One down, one to go

I wasn't sure that I was going to get this little top done yesterday. I am more than 2/3 of the way through the book, I did 4 loads of laundry, pieced a quilt back, and caught up on the blogs that I was behind on. By evening though I was itching to sew. I was afraid this big print would look chopped up with all of the little strips I had to cut to make it all fit, but I don't think it looks bad. This little piece ended up 25.5" x 37".I had made 2 of each block so I have another set of them to piece with a different background print. I haven't decided which of the others that I will use for the second piece. I think I want the narrow border to be skinnier in the next one too.

  4. The blocks look like they are floating above the background ,and not chopped up. Can't wait to see it in person.

  5. I really do like how it turned out. Really nice version. I think I would go for a narrow version of the skinny border too! I love your second favorite quilt in your side bar.

  8. I love how that looks -- the blocks are floating on the background and, to me, the background does not look chopped up at all! Gorgeous beginning to 2009!
