Here is a blogging hint. The comments on a blog can be set up as full page or pop up box. When you have it set as full page, I have to leave the blog page to leave my comment and I can't go back and see all of the things I wanted to comment on. If you set it as pop up box, the viewer can still see the blog entry while commenting, which I find very helpful. I wish more sites had it set as pop up box.

Club meeting
Today is the embroidery club meeting at the sewing machine store where I work occasionally. I took the embroidered squares and a tray of the other fabrics to show them last time and said I would have it done by next meeting (2 months). The club was supposed to be last Thurs. but because the weather predictions were so bad last week they rescheduled to this week. Our high temperature last week was -9 and today is supposed to be in the 30's, a 40 degree change. I have a shadow on the bottom of the quilt so I need to get a better picture.
Thanks for the pop up window hint. I changed mine, just in case you want to comment! LOL
ReplyDeleteActually, I had been wondering about that....thanks for answering my unasked question.
The quilt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe pop up box thing is also a pet peeve of mine. On most blogs with pop ups more than one pop up window comes up and the post vanishes then there are additional "show insecure items?" boxes to click through. So actually posting a comment on pop up blogs means quite a few clicks through various boxes and silliness. The ones that work properly as yours does are rare. So I don't understand why that all works as it does, but I've also thought about this because it is such a distraction from really cool blogs.
Wanda...Where is the setting to make the comment section be "pop-up"?? I'm not sure how mine is set...will have to check on that.
ReplyDeleteThere's actually a third option "Embedded below post". This shows the post, any other comments, and then the comment form. But if you are trying to comment on multiple posts, this wouldn't help.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt,so diffrent for you.Wig.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this quilt...very Valentinish;) Sounds like you're having a heat wave...keep cool...lol;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you gave the tip on pop-ups. I changed mine just a little while ago because I went to my own comments without being logged on and realized how annoying it was!
ReplyDeleteWe are windy and cold. If anyone knows what the secret is about Alberta Clipper and weather, this is your clue as to what comes next? (smile)
Have a great day. I'm sewing on a project with lots of HS triangles...
It does have a real valentine's day feeling to it!! Pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wanda for the suggestion...I went into the settings feature on my blog and made that change.
ReplyDeleteyou did good...the quilt IS very valentine-y.....good tip on the comment window...I'll go see about mine!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, cheerful top, Wanda. I love those simple, old-timey blocks, and the fabrics you've chosen are so....exuberant!
ReplyDeleteI've changed my comments to the pop-up window. Hope someone will let me know if the change is good, or just an annoyance!
The embroidery is beautiful on this quilt! I just love the colors. Simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a warm-looking quilt; looks like it could warm the room a few degrees with just the colors. I haven't done any machine embroidery; does it make the quilt a little stiff, or does that get taken care of with the quilting?

Yaay, I checked and mine was already set for popup comments.
ReplyDeleteElegant floral designs in threads of gold are just beautiful on those blocks. As always your border compliments your piece and is so perfect. I'm sure your students loved it as much as the rest of us.

Thanks for putting that pop-up box note on your blog. I have the same problem you do when I comment on blogs. I like the squares quilt. The simple old designs never fail to surprise.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. I changed my settings for comments, so they open in a pop-up window.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt!
Beautiful Wanda. I love the detailing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hint of comment boxes. I prefer the pop up box as others have but hadn't thought of how to change mine.
ReplyDeleteI went and changed it straight away.
Well, you know I love this quilt. The color alone wins me over... I love the pink/red contrast.
ReplyDeletei'm going to go see what mine is set at. so many things to learn!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip...I had no idea. I will change mine too as I know exactly what you are talking about.
ReplyDeleteI am considering purchasing an embroidery machine. What brand do you recommend?
