I have started using some of my strip sets in journal covers. On this one I used another of my scanned and printed leaves.I had a trial embroidery that matched the colors in this strip piecing.
This strip piecing wasn't quite long enough so I added and end strip and I like it.
I added the end strip to this one too.
This picture would have been the first one if Blogger was behaving like it used to and would post them in the order I entered them.
I'm on the road to see friends today. The sun is shining and it is supposed to be the warmest day this week, all the way up to the mid 40's.
Love those 'Journal Pages' Each one has it's own personality. Are you compiling them for each month of the year and binding all together? You mentioned in an earlier post that you were making one each month.... Or do you actually use them as a Journal cover for your own journal or for a wonderful gift for someone? I'm thinking of doing that for Christmas gifts this year.
Very good looking, what a way to use up leftovers. :) You can always go into the HTML tab and grab a photo there and move it. I agree, it's a pain how blogger loads them now.
I especially love the journal with the leaf on it. Questions: What kind of fusable do you use (for the leaf)? Your stitches appear to not split the fabric when so close to the edges. What size needle and what size stitch? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks Wanda. Karen
They're all beautiful, but I think I like the one where you came up short, with the black and white dots. Is there a pocket on the inside for the covers to slip into?
All four are beautiful. I love the vertical pieces....the black and gold.
ReplyDeleteThose covers are fabulous. Great way to use the strips.
ReplyDeleteI think strips answers the question for you at the end of my last post

ReplyDeleteThese are terrific!
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteAll of these have a different "feel".
I like them all, but my favorite is the yellow -- very summery and cheery.
What do you plan to use for the middles of these journals?

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Wanda. It's enough to tempt me to do something similar with all my leftovers. Clever - and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the journal covers. They are all unique and terrific in their own way. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow very resourceful of you. I love the one with the leaf. They are all good but that one is superb!

ReplyDeleteThese covers are gorgeous! Do you stiffen them with anything? I've used pelmet Vilene in the past.
