I started giving fabric birthday cards last February for the first sister in law birthday of the years so I have to follow through for today's lunch. I am usually using up some test embroideries that I did and was happy to find two school related ones in the bunch.
When I get home from lunch I have to embroider a redwork picture of my church on 12 dishtowels for the Advent bags. I have to deliver them to church on Sunday and I have to fill in at the store tomorrow. This has been a busy week!
very cool, husband would love me to get a machine that would do that, but I want one that would be more quilty friendly.
ReplyDeleteThose look great, wonderful idea for cards. Will the redwork be done on the machine also? Did you scan in a photo of the church to get the outline?
ReplyDeleteThose birthday cards are a gifts in themselves. So special, and can be displayed all year long.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly have 'much on your work table'. I know it will get done as you always have been a multi-tasker. Hope to see the dishtowels posted when you get them completed.

You are keeping yourself really busy, huh?! The cards are beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteNice cards! I've been conjuring a plan for a limited number of hand-made Christmas cards. I do not have an embroidery machine, but I can make some sew-on pretties. I'll post to my blog when I do a sample.
ReplyDeleteI love those embroideries! They are treasures, so hope the cards are kept. I would love an embroidery machine, but would I justify owning one??
ReplyDeleteI need to plod on with my 'red'.
What a terrific idea on how to use your "test" embroideries. I have a few of those laying around and may have to turn them into cards too. Thanks for the great idea.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great idea... See I knew there was a real reason for me to buy an embroidery capable machine when I buy a new machine next year... I always make my own Xmas cards, and this would be a wonderful touch. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThese are really nice - and what I good idea for using up the samples. Thanks for becoming an official "follower" btw.
ReplyDeleteI love your cards! I used to hand-paint my cards (with a toothpick!) years and years ago. Then I cross stitched them. Somewhere along the line, I got away from hand-made cards. Time to find my way back! Thanks for the inspiration
