Color, color everywhere

I took a couple pictures on my walk yesterday. This is one of the gardens that I really admire. I don't know the name of a couple of the flowers so I will be getting out my gardening books.
I love the deep purple contrasted with the white fence.
I got this piece re-bordered and I think it looks much better. It is now 35" x 37".
And here is another Rose of Sharon blossom. By getting the picture straight on you don't see it's long stamen (or whatever it is called) sticking out the middle.
I'm off to the dentist for a cleaning this morning. I really don't want to hear any bad news.

And speaking of breathtaking... your finished piece is just that!

See you soon~

What a lovely garden, and great photos! I'm curious too, about the round red flowers in the second photo. I've not seen them before.

Those borders worked out so well! I really like those 2 B&W's together, would never have thought of it.

And your garden -- WOW!!

Up until today, I wasn't excited about your quilt, but you certainly pulled it together with the re-bordering. Amazing what a difference a thoughtful re-evaluation made to this piece. You have succeeded.

I love that quilt -- it really is so much fun to look at!
Do you have any idea what that deep purple flower is? Gorgeous!

I think I can help out with a couple of the flowers.
The round-looking red ones appear to be zinnias, while the dark purple next to the fence is a type of clematis.

These garden shots are certainly inspiring for color ideas!

Love the way your batik quilt came out!

Thanks for sharing my clematis with everyone, Wanda!! I was just thinking yesterday that there are not nearly as many blossoms as a month ago when they looked heavier than the fence. Now I really do need to replace my fence since your world of readers are seeing it!

I like your quilt with the newer decision of borders. It frames it very nicely.

the quilt is very pretty. i like how the pieces of the border fabric in the quilt bring it all together. the garden pictures popped when your site came up. what a beautiful walk.

So now the question is, what will you use for binding? Will you go for solid black or pick a bright color (or multiple colors) from the center.

BTW I did consider using some of the tie fabric for the binding on my NY Beauty quilt but I really didn't have enough left or enough variety to make it work well I decided. Everyone is for the orange as am I!
