I was on the south side of town and spied the fresh sweet corn stand, fresh picked this morning. Since I was a child from a farm, grocery store sweet corn just doesn't cut it for me. Cathi mentioned my garden must be magnificent in its entirety so I decided to take a picture of it all the way across. Please don't mention the weeds to me if you click on it for a closer view, LOL.
The back garden is a shade garden so it is hard to get a picture of it without it looking dark, and just green. It is very pretty in person.
I love this time of year when one can get fresh-picked veggies. We're heading to the farmer's market at city hall tomorrow to see what we can find.
ReplyDeleteYour front garden is SO pretty -- really makes one want to walk up and look at it!
We had some yummy fresh local corn for dinner last night. Yum! Your garden is beautiful. I love all of the photos that you share.
ReplyDeleteFarm fresh veggies are the only way to go!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is lovely. =)
When we lived in northern Indiana, we could stop by and get corn picked while we waited, drive home, cook it and eat it (all within 30 minutes)... NO WAY can corn from the grocery store even come close! Enjoy your bounty...
ReplyDeleteWe're having farmer's market sweet corn for dinner tonight, too! Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI SO agree about the corn. We used to have the water boiling already before we picked it from the garden.
ReplyDeleteI can't eat sweet corn unless it's fresh. In fact, there are a lot of foods like that - things just don't taste the same when you've grown up on a farm.
My grandkids will never even realize the difference.
The flowers are beautiful but oh that corn! I love, love, love fresh corn on the cob and buy it whenever I can. Unfortunately, that's not often. Blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteCare to share any of that fresh corn on the cob?? :-) There's not much in life that's better than that!
ReplyDeleteLove corn too. Rather eat it in private, than public though!
ReplyDeleteOf course one can cut the corn off, but it is not the same somehow, as eating from the cob.
Love your garden.
I LOVE fresh corn and we have a great farm stand about a mile away! So, we're enjoying the corn too. It's better than dessert! Can't wait until the tomatoes are in season too. I'm already hungry for a BLT! And the raspberries will be here any day now. Summer and fresh fruits and veggies - YUM! Your garden looks so pretty. Wish mine looked as good.
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying the photos from your garden. It is snowing here in southern New Zealand and your flowers remind me that spring is not too far away for us. Well I hope it is not too far away. LOL
