Blocks so far

I'm not really happy with a couple of these blocks. If I take 2 out it will be a square wallhanging. If I add 3 more it will be a large wallhanging or a lap quilt. If I just continue making blocks with nothing in mind, it may be come 2 small pieces or 1 large one. Indecision. My art quilt group comes on Monday so I will get some more feedback. I have several different hostas. This one is a blue green leaf.
Green with yellow edges.
Smaller heart shaped leaves.
Lime green with dark green edges.
I have some more that I will post tomorrow.

  2. Hi Wanda,

I love these. If you don't like the two I'm thinking you might not like, try moving them so all warm is at top then changes to cool at the bottom? Just a thought.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I love those blocks.

I really like Hostas, but the snails make short work of mine. I see you have violets flowering- mine refuse to flower, & I can't think why.

  4. Hostas! I have some in my garden but I didn't know their name. Now I do.

Must be great to have an art group to talk things over with! It's fun to watch the quilt/quilts develop.

  6. Oooo, I love your hostas! How pretty! We found some new ones starting to grow in our yard - I'm curious to see what they'll look like in a few days.
I love your blocks - what juicy, yummy colors! But I think it might be better to rearrange them to transition the cool and the warm colors better. You know, change the "flow" of the colors across the quilt. Ummm, just an idea. . .

  7. How about 3 more blocks, making them relatively dark, like the dark red in the upper right. Make one mostly dark green, one mostly dark blue, and one that is a dark blue / dark green transition block. IMO, you need some more dark here.

  8. When ever you ask a question...They will come with answers (*._,*) Good comments above.

I am just going to wait and see what you do with the blocks.

After a mild winter, we have had a long cool spring. My hosta's have not even leafed out yet. It is good to see yours growing strong. I love them as they are such a neat and tidy plant. And the violets sprinkled in here and there is an added treat.

  9. Each individual block is stunning.

There are a few that seem uneasy in this configuration, though. They are, I think, the ones that mix warms and cools within the same block.

Interestingly, those are the blocks that I love the most as stand-alones....
