Noise in the neighborhood and a question

If you look closely you will see a truck through the trees. My backyard neighbors had a couple trees taken down and some limbs trimmed. We have a little mini forest in the space between our 2 houses. We have both lived here for 35 years and have watched the space fill in as squirrels planted the walnuts. There are also a couple maples and many redbuds. Here is the brave soul who will go up in the cherry picker with his chainsaw.
My question is: Are you more likely to check a blog that posts every day? Do you like seeing something every day vs. every other day?

Added at 11:38 a.m. I like to post every day, it is not a chore, it is fun. I'm just wondering if I am posting too often.

  2. Wanda, like Jean, I start my day with a cup of tea and your blog. I might not check it every day if I didn't know there would be a new post. OR. . . I might keep checking waiting for the next post.

But I love this blog! I think this is your book. I really enjoy the history and old photos as well as the quilts. And your quilts have always provided inspiration to me! Please keep up the good work!

  4. Wanda, I usually check your blog daily because you post daily, but I wouldn't loose interest if you posted less often. I use Blogarithm which sends me an e-mail that tells me which of the blogs I'm subscribed to have been updated. It's not always timely and I've noticed it misses some updates but it helps me save time and keep up with a lot of blogs.

I am inspired by your work, and am set up to start practing my machine quilting thanks to your encouragement.

  5. While I enjoy reading your blog (and other blogs) daily, posting daily can become a chore. Reading a blog that is obviously a labor of love as opposed to just a labor is so much more enjoyable!

You provide great inspiration - I'd much rather that you "do what you love" rather than feel the pressure of posting just for posting's sake (Wordless Wednesday, Saturday Sky, anyone?). It's always a treat to read what you share!

  6. I use bloglines so I don't have to check every blog I like to read every day. I think it's good to post when you have something to say. I don't have time to read very long posts unless they are entirely gripping. Well, I have time but I do want to quilt as well. Lol. Really, a blog is an online diary so we shouldn't feel pressure to post every single day. When I started blogging I had no thought of readers. I just did it for myself and the readers are a bonus.

  7. I'd read your blog no matter when you posted... because, as the others say, you give me a creative boost. However, this can become a pressure to "perform" and I for one would never want you to post because all who read you are 'expecting' you to!

That said, if you posted once a week, I'd still click on the link often, just to look at your colorful quilts and interesting photos whenever I feel like it.

So post as you feel like it, and many blessings!

  8. It's your blog, so post when you want to... if there's nothing to say, then be still. When there's lots to share, go for it!

  13. I read you every day Wanda. Love to see your quilts, & have enjoyed your old photos posts, as well.
I post almost every day, it is a personal choice. I do it for me, as Joyce says, & readers are a bonus. I do enjoy comments.
    Your quilts are an inspiration.

  15. Wanda ~ I agree with all of the comments made above. I personally know you have years to share with all of us. For now, if you can keep up every day, so can I. Wish I lived near you to benefit even more with taking one of your classes.

  18. Love to read your blog, but can't get to it everyday. When I do visit and there is more than one post, well, I just read it. Post as often as you like ... you are just full of inspiration to us all.

  19. No, it does not matter! You could post weekly and I'd still visit. I love your blog.
