Me likey! My faves are the random checkerboard and the very first one in color wheel order. I think it's kind of landscapey to me. I could totally see a focus area of a few blocks on the random checkerboard being embelished or embroidered or something. If these aren't "exuberant color" I don't know what is!
This is going to be one beautiful quilt, no matter what layout. I like the color wheel order in rows and also the double diagonal. They show off the richness of the colors and the way the colours graduate within the blocks as well. Just my opinion :-)
At first I thought I liked the double diagonal best, because of how the colors blend, but pretty soon I started liking the color sorted checkerboard the most. It takes advantage of how the colors work together, but makes you look a little harder to 'get it.' It's more unusual and more interesting, I think. But the double diagonal is a close second. Those blocks are great.
I'm posting my response before I read the others - I like the double diagonal the best. No special reason - it just "speaks" to me... have fun with this evolving project!!
So far I like the double diagonal. Not sure why.

ReplyDeleteEach layout is stunning. I like the diagonal as it looks like rows of glistening jewels to me. It's interesting how everyone sees something different.
