One idea you might consider is one I've used on several quilts: a 1st border maybe cut 3" using a darkish TOT fabric that compliments the quilt center, a very narrow and brighter 2nd border cut about 1" to 1.5" (whatever looks best to you), and an outer border that is cut the 1st + 2nd border widths + .5" for seam allowances. I'll send you a photo!

Hugs!Barbara Annenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4049103935243328127.post-1375289593887941642023-03-18T14:31:48.750-05:002023-03-18T14:31:48.750-05:00I agree with the other comments that the checkerbo...I agree with the other comments that the checkerboard is distracting. And even a diamond shape comes into vision. Adding another detailed design to your quilt really adds to this piece AND I do not miss the sashing now. And since the rest of the quilt has colors scattered throughout, I don't think I would necessarily coordinate the strips with the colors in each of the perimeter blocks. But of course, auditions must happen before decisions are made.Quiltdivajuliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15593385265961892847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4049103935243328127.post-77477619948218599202023-03-18T07:41:06.388-05:002023-03-18T07:41:06.388-05:00I like the strip idea better than the checkerboard...I like the strip idea better than the checkerboard border. When I first looked at the photo my eyes went right to the checkerboard and almost missed all those gorgeous fabrics in the Churn Dashes. The strip border seems to blend right in with the lines of the Churn Dash -- I almost missed those strips at first glance. Of course I'm usually a border-less girl so what do I know!
