Three variations......................

I cut reds and a few yellow, gold squares yesterday.  At 9:30 last night I thought I was done for the night playing with the layout of this mini colorwash.

Then I started adding a few pieces and took this picture to see if I was done.  On the right side I didn't like the way green met the orange.

I changed out a few pieces and kept at it until I had this layout.  I think it is ready to sew but I'll look at it again this morning to be sure.  I actually did change one piece after I took this photo.

In the afternoon I dug out some dandelions that were in my front garden.  Today I might dig out the white violets.

  1. So beautiful, I love looking to see what squares were changed. I believe you said you don’t usually add yellow but it sure makes this one glow.

  2. Love the yellows in that glowing center, Wanda; this is such a lovely piece...the colors all melt into one another beautifully;)))
48 here this morning with bright sunshine and a few wandering clouds...maybe I will walk outside today...still auditioning next border fabrics for Frankencrumb piece...maybe going with white on black--will have to die cut strips to really see how they'll look...

  4. Final layout is supreme… you always create the BEST colorwashes I’ve ever seen…

  5. I think it takes quite awhile to get a colorwash pattern just how you want maybe that is why I always tend to give up. If I leave something on the wall like that I will keep changing it. I told myself to leave the design wall alone right now and wait until I get all my blocks done before I take a day or two rearranging blocks.

  6. Your colorwashs are always beautiful. They just seem to glow. The colors flow one from another. Wonderful

  7. It looks lovely - and so easy even though getting the colourwash just right requires real effort! It must be fun, though!
