As I was cleaning off the sewing table, I decided to sew some 9 patches from the 1.5" squares that aren't suitable for colorwash.
l knew I had some the same size (in a project box) that I sewed last year. Now I see I have sewn 2 different kinds. This batch with 5 dark squares has 44 blocks in it. I will probably press the 8 new blocks and put them with the 44, back into the project box for now.
I had other tasks during the day, packing a box to ship and running a couple errands.

Interesting that you made the other version of 9-patches. I almost always make the dark cornered version when just sewing left overs together.
ReplyDeleteSometimes mindless sewing is just what we need.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those batiks! (The sort of green check.) I'm glad I bought a lot (how long ago? LOL) because I've used it often.
ReplyDeletesometimes I don't even get to the mindless sewing stage in the day
ReplyDeleteMindless sewing usually calms me down--lately any sewing at all has been hurting my hands...so I am tabling any fabric works for a bit...I spent the morning re-organizing and setting up my paper crafting corner so I can find my "happy place" there for a while...
ReplyDeleteI need a good, long rest from fabric manipulations ...sad to say..but maybe that will do the trick for me...[soon to be 83 year old hands and fingers of a pianist have worked a whole lot....]
55 coolish degrees here--awaiting the promised rain, but so far just clouds....
