I knew there were several rust color Nancy Crow fabrics that might work for the binding and this one is the winner.
It took over 2 hours to hand finish the binding last night. I pieced the Hunter Star blocks in October 2014 and sewed them end to end for this table runner. I have had the batting cut for it for several years. Some things just don't take priority and this was one of them. It is 12" x 35.5".
The backing is the remainder of a fabric I used for a quilt back many years ago.
I mentioned earlier that the pieces were all cut from one Nancy Crow ombre fabric. Here is a piece in another color range so you can see what I was working with.
We got a little over 3/4" of rain in the daylight hours yesterday. More rain was supposed to come overnight so I'll check the rain gauge this morning.

The binding is definitely a winner. The table runner looks sharp. We saw sunshine yesterday and temps were in the low 70’s!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the finish! At least the dense fog has gone.
ReplyDeleteThat table runner is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo many colors in one fabric. Really pretty.
ReplyDeleteLovely table runner, Wanda--love that paisley backing--so rich and colorful...
ReplyDelete38 here--seeing some melting finally...this is a Formula One weekend so we've watched Qualifying this morning and will watch Pre-Race Show tonight replay as the race is in Austrailia and there is a big time difference...
Hugs, Julierose
Don't you just love the ombre fabric. You used it really well. Best Hunter Star ever.
ReplyDeleteYou created an amazing table runner with your Nancy Crow fabric ~ Hunter Star pattern couldn’t have been any better for your choices. It glows with serene richness.
ReplyDeleteThe table runner is so rich in color. It almost looks like it's made out of wood.
ReplyDeleteWe had a brief spell of rain early this morning, but now it's sunny and heading to 70 degrees. Wind and more rain later today, but I hope to get our for a walk before that happens.
Pat
great choice for backing and binding. I always love paisley fabric
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this. The color, fabrics, design and binding are all fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAnother masterpiece, Wanda. It is truly beautiful. All the fabrics are playing together so nicely!
ReplyDeleteWe've had thunderstorms tonight and even some hail. For now, it's quiet.
What a stunning table runner. I wish I had wooden floors in that pattern. I do have the Accuquilt die for the Hunter’s Star, but after trying and failing with Storm at Sea, I’m not ready to try something so ambitious again.
ReplyDeleteI love the Hunter Star block. This pretty table runner reminds me that I need to make another HS veterans quilt.
