Sewing was interrupted..................

Someone is going to the far side of a neighboring state to see my great-grandchildren.  That means baking treats for them.  The chocolate chip cookies are delicious.

I also made shortbread and peanut butter cookies.  I had to test them too.  I need to know I'm sending them good treats.  That's my story..............

I did get started cutting the 4.5" squares for the double 4 patch blocks.

We have had 18 days in a row below 32 degrees, the average temperature for this date.  Thursday may get up to 32, but Friday is slated for high 30s.  Next week is all 30s and 40s.  I'll probably see someone in shorts and flip flops at the grocery store.  Yes, this is normal near Chicago.....

My oldest child turns 65 today.  He has his Medicare card.....  This hardly seems possible.

  1. Oh! Those treats look yummy. You are a hardier soul than I am surviving and thriving in that cold.

The dbl 4-patches in those batiks are so vibrant--nice tip to offset the strata by 1" and do that cutting at once!!
Actually 27 here today; was going to go grocery shopping but still not feeling up to par--rampant headaches: sinus? stress? bug? eye strain? Who knows..but better today..taking it slow and easy..
I did finish my Sentimental Scroll and attached it to the bobbin...

  4. Your new blocks are a colorful delight and, oh, those cookies!
If you can believe it, we have snow flurries and 39*F today after the 48*F of yesterday. There is much left to melt. Sigh.

    Hugs!

  6. Nothing better than grandma’s home made cookies. And it surely wouldn’t be a normal day if you hadn’t worked with fabric. Great combo cutting.

  7. I haven't made peanut butter cookies in ages - when children start getting old enough for Medicare - wow the years have flown by haven't they.

  9. That’s a lot of yummy baking. They will be thrilled. You definitely need to sample each one. lol. I think my kids aging affects me more than my own age.

  10. Peanut butter are my all-time favorites! Could you share your recipe? I keep trying to replicate the cookies we made when I was a brownie troup. I love a crunchy exterior.
