4 blocks sewn, pressed and added to right column...........

I turned on my little mini iron and pressed the parts for the 4 new blocks and then sewed them and pressed them.  In the right column starting at the top, they are the 2nd, 5th, and bottom 2 blocks.  These aren't sewn into a column yet.  I need a partial block in the left column and might need a partial one on the right column too after they are sewn together.

Since I have had so few second round blooms on the cacti I need to capture the beauty of the ones I did get.  This champagne one is large and beautiful.  The second but is in the upper right corner of the photo.

Last night I needed some calm time.  I had an 11:15 arrival time for a procedure at the hospital and they called at 6:50 to say they had 2 cancellations and that I could come in early.  I got there at 7:30 for my radiowave ablation with steroids for the painful nerve roots in my back.  I hope I never have to repeat it as it wasn't very pleasant.  I was home by 10:30, 45 minutes before my scheduled arrival.  This treatment can have results within days or may take weeks.  I think you know which group I would like to be in.  It was 4 1/2 weeks since my first visit to the pain clinic because of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years holiday cutting into scheduling time.  I had to stay healthy so I wouldn't have to cancel so there was a lot of alone time the last 2 weeks.

  1. I hope you are feeling more comfortable today and you have improved pain levels sooner rather than later, Wanda. Sending heeling thoughts and virtual hugs your way.

  2. The medallion top is looking good - the extra blocks to fill in the columns helped a lot. I do hope the unpleasant treatment yields positive results - pain is no fun at all. Take care and be gentle with yourself while the treatment takes effect.

  3. Hope that your procedure alleviates your painful back, Wanda!!
That cannot have been fun!! I went through a similar procedure some years back--so I get it!! Try to rest up and relax as much as you can...sending good thoughts for quick results;))))
The Medallion quilt is really looking great!!
36 here while we await the "blizzard conditions" predicted with 12"+ snowfall tomorrow through Monday. Got out early today to pick up extra supplies in case of the worst outcome --we are all set with our generator, too...It's been 10 years since we've had a blizzard warning here...not long enough for me!!:(((
36 here now and feeling mild with some snow finally melting...
    Hugs, Julierose

  4. Your treatment sounds like science fiction! Hope the results are everything you hope for and that your efforts to stay healthy are rewarded by missing all the nasty bugs going around. I'm loving your medallion quilt, what a treat to watch it unfold.

  5. Sorry, I posted too soon. I know what you mean about not wanting to get sick before a procedure. I recently had cataract surgery and didn't want to cancel for illness because it took 3 months to schedule the surgery. Fortunately, I suffered no pain during either procedure and saw (literally) immediate results. I hope your procedure brings some much needed relief.
Some of my cacti are also having 2nd blooms and two of my orchid have buds.

  6. I hope the injection works - do you have to take it easy now and not do much for a couple days? I remember my sister had injections in her back once for pain issues and it was done out patient - it was not the same procedure as yours -she was told to take it easy all day abd lay down most of the day, but of course she didn't she went to work later that day and then complained that it hadn't helped one bit. If she had followed orders maybe it would have? I don't know but she is nurse and think she knows it all when it comes to medical LOL. the arrangement on the quilt is looking good.

  7. Yikes ~ your procedure sounds wicked. And sure hope it helps get rid of the pain for you. I looked it up on Google and it is a very intense procedure for sure.

Your Medallian top continues to brighten my days.

  9. The medallion quilt is coming along nicely. Each row you add is so interesting! I hope your pain subsides sooner rather than later. Hopefully you won't have to ever have that done again. It doesn't sound like fun. Thankfully our brains can forget pain.
