Playing...............

I added some more pieces to 3 of the Marcia Derse fabric crazy piecing blocks.  I'm testing whether I want white with black fabrics added.  I have at least 3 other prints I can try.

Occasionally I pull out the parts department boxes and check out some of the pieces.  These are from the 4" Kaffe fabric box.  They are now safely back in the box.

I finished this dishcloth on Sunday night.  I now have 3 in this coloration done and want to make 3 more.

I started two more dishcloths last night.  The bottom one is blue flecks and isn't quite as dark as it looks here.

I also am basting a small quilt to quilt on my Pfaff machine.  I should finish that today and start on the quilting tonight.

We got another 2" of snow yesterday.  I had PT yesterday afternoon and stopped at the grocery store on the way home.  Today may reach 32 degrees and then single digits tomorrow morning.

  1. It was in the 20’s when I woke up this morning but no more snow is expected. Can’t wait to see the other fabric possibilities for the MD crazy piecing. I’m hoping to get the batting and insulbrite cut and binding sewn on some of the potholders today.

  2. We had our first freeze night before last. We're warming back up now and it's great weather for neighborhood walks. I'm interested to see how you use the Marcia Derse blocks.

  3. The dishcloth turned out so pretty! I have had no time to knit. I manage to get some cross stitch done at lunch and the evenings are spent working on sewing projects. Thursday and Friday we get into the teens, so I guess I had better put the electric space heater in the lower level bathroom so the sink pipes don't freeze. It looks like it will be a bit warmer next week, but snow is also forecasted. This is getting to be like the way winter use to be!

  4. Hahaha--"..safely back in their box!!" sounds like what i do a lot these days...Those MD crazy blocks are really neat--love that cheddary yellow in them...relieves that darkness very well.
31 here this morning and iced up roads...made my cautious way to the grocery store and got us stocked back up after the Thanksgiving weekend...Want to sew a few more neutral Ojos today...hugs, Julierose

  5. Love your crazy blocks and wonder if the black/white fabric would be a good outer border?
What delicious quarter square triangle blocks!
    Love your festive dishcloths, too.
33*F here at 0900 with the high expected to be 46*F. No snow.

    Hugs!

  6. I love playing with parts but then putting them away for another day (guilt free). It is cold here but no snow so far. Another week of freezing nights on tap.

  7. Your crazy pieced blocks are absolutely gorgeous and love the whimsical patterns in each block. Fun to see your “parts department” pieces and know you will not forget they are waiting for you. Perfect yarn for your Christmas gifting dish cloths. Great post today Wanda.

  9. Wanda, I laughed out loud when you said you pulled out the parts department and then put it right back on the shelf. So glad to hear that other people do that!

  10. Ha – I was at PE yesterday too; I go on Mondays and Wednesdays. Our snow has unfortunately melted, but it's still around zero degrees Celsius… Your block patterns are beautiful; I'm curious to see what you decide on… the black and white combination doesn't quite look right… but :-)))
    This will be exciting.
Have fun knitting and more knitting! I knitted for years.
    You use beautiful yarn.
    Happy Advent season! Viola

  11. LOL -- "safely back in the box." Yeah, don't let them think they're going anywhere anytime soon.

  12. The white looks interesting with those crazy blocks - kind of an eye stopper before checking out the next cool one. Have fun deciding !
