Yesterday morning I got all of the strippy blocks up on the design wall. I think I might have moved 2 of the blocks after this photo was taken.
I decided to sew the columns I'm happy with so the three at the left are sewn, but not sewn to each other. I need to do more playing with the insertion strips. I don't like the grouping of the strippy block columns right now, 3, 2, 3, and 2. After I sew some columns I can move them around and also move the narrow strips to new locations.
I decided to make 2 more flannel bullseye blocks for a total of 12. The blocks will finish somewhere near 10" so that would make a 30" x 40" quilt which is a good size for a baby.
I hope I can convince myself that today is Friday. These holidays mess with the brain.

I know what you mean about the holidays ,no matter what day they fall on the next day feels like Monday 🤣 the blocks are looking great!
ReplyDeleteLove your vertical rows at random! I have a bit con (Bonnie Hunter pattern) quilt in progress. I may need to incorporate your idea to make it even more fun. Happy sewing.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, it took me a minute to see what you meant by 3,2,3,2, must be a turkey and stuffing hangover making my brain foggy today ;-)
ReplyDeleteMaybe part of the discord is because the third insert strip is so different (two narrow strings sewn together and then sewn to a wider one?). But, yes -- what day is it? Friday. One day until Snowday, according to the weather forecast.
ReplyDelete"What day is it now?" is definitely the question on holiday weeks. ;))) We are still pretty tired out after yesterday's gala gathering; not a shred of turkey left--my grandboys really love turkey!!
ReplyDeleteToday will be a day of R&R for us...35 here and quite windy...I may do a little Ojos sewing later on...
I like how your columns are shaping up, Wanda...the strip insertions are a great idea...
hugs, Julierose
I love th colors in your strippy blocks. So cheerful!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is looking good! As you consider changes to break up the 3-2-3-2 pattern, you might turn one or more upside down and see how you like it.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
Hugs!
Fun to watch this one come together. So full of grand colorful prints. And to end your post with a couple more flannel ‘Bullseye’ blocks that have a such a warm and welcoming feeling.
ReplyDeleteI love love LOVE the strippy top — 3-2-2-3 might be more pleasing to the eye?
ReplyDeleteI like that design with the narrow strips changing things a bit
ReplyDeleteThe strippy top is so pretty!
