I love this little quilt. I made blocks from my supply of cut Kaffe fabric strips and then hoped they would all work together at the design wall. It's pretty simple, 1.5" and 2.5" strips sewn together to make the blocks. Lots of the strips were cut 15-20 years ago so there are a lot of early Kaffe fabrics in this one.
The backing is a Brandon Mably fabric and the binding a Kaffe fabric. I used Hobbs 80/20 batting in it and it finished at 47" x 67".
It was quilted by Robin Diaz.
The binding choice is a Kaffe fabric.
I wanted this binding to blend into the quilt rather than framing it.
The tree across the street is starting to turn color. I was afraid it was going to just dry up and not be beautiful this year.
Our "rainy" Saturday turned into a tenth of an inch of rain in the morning and no more rain until 10 p.m. They were promising heavier rain overnight and up until noon today. I hope so.

love this quilt! ooh a lovely tree...
ReplyDeleteThe tree and quilt compliment each other. Both are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt, Wanda--it reflects that gorgeous tree foliage [you've pictured] so well!! Nice work;))))
ReplyDelete52 here this morning and I guess we are in for a truly warm day--perhaps the last we'll see for a bit? Plan to sit out and Kantha stitch on my Dark Days border piece...and watch F1 Race this p.m.
Hugs, Julierose
I love that quilt, too! Wonderfully scrappy and your binding choice was spot on. VERY pretty tree photo. We have barely any color so far here.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is a celebration of colors, isn't it? The binding and backing choices are perfect, too. What a wonderful stash you have. Yum!
ReplyDeleteThe maples are slowly turning here but the black gum's scarlet leaves are almost gone as are the dogwood's purple/red leaves. What a glorious season!
Hugs!
I love the gorgeous tree photo that goes so well with the quilt picture before it. Love the colorful graphic finish….with the perfect binding. The wind has picked up and we are supposed to get rain soon.
ReplyDeleteThis “little Quilt” sure has a riot of color. It just jumps off my computer screen. Great to see on a gloomy Sunday morning here in the mountains.
ReplyDeletepretty quilt colors, and love trees very little color here but will be starting soon
