As I looked through batiks on the multicolor shelf, I was surprised that I had pulled 2 colorations of the same design. Because the color changes so often, they are harder to use in a project where a color needs to be consistent. This is 2 of the 3 new mug rug tops laying on them. I haven't made any decisions which ones will get which backing.
I also had some older little strip pieced pieces that are mug rug size. This is first 2 of 4 of them.
And here are the last 2. That gives me 7 mug rugs to finish soon.
I also got borders cut for another quilt yesterday and sewed some more of the Nancy Crow fabric 16 patches.
I haven't turned on the heat even though it was 64 in the house. For the first time in a long time I wore 2 layers of long sleeves. It was 42 degrees yesterday morning.

43 here outside now...cool for us....inside is 72 so not heat on here either...
ReplyDeleteIt’s currently 39 outside. It’s chilly inside so I need a sweater in the mornings but we haven’t turned the heat on. You are always pulling things out of your hat ;-)
ReplyDeleteThose would be good fabrics for backing the mug rugs. I won't turn the heat on until it gets to 55 in the house. I like it colder so I am good with the house temp in the 60's.
ReplyDeleteOh I have that backing fabric you chose--mine is in green...I am using it in some of my Anniv. pages...so pretty.
ReplyDelete35 here--brrr--long sleeves for me too...
I have to re-assess my fabrics for the booklet--and put them in some kind of order today--I can't find anything as it is...three shoeboxes full...I hope your weekend will be full of wonder...:)))
Hugs, Julierose
Do you bind your mug rugs or sew them pillowcase style?
ReplyDeleteSuch festive and pretty mug rugs in the works ~ both front and backings are delightful.
ReplyDeleteI've had that batik in both those colorways and had the same reaction re: the color sequence. When the a/c was replaced this summer a new thermostat was installed. I haven't needed to touch it for weeks, but now I have to pull out the instructions to program it.
ReplyDeleteI love those batiks for backing they are so pretty. I would be freezing if my house was 64 but then I am cold natured with windows open the last two nights it was70 in the house both mornings which felt good.
ReplyDeleteExuberant color at its best!!
ReplyDeleteIt was 49*F here last night and will be 68*F for our high today. The maples are turning!!
Hugs!
I love all your pretty pieces. Your color sense always makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteI like those backing fabrics a lot! It's cooling here but I haven't even gotten out a long sleeve yet in the house. I run so hot that I don't mind it cool.
