Second finish for August 2025.............

It's a little hard to see the border since it wants to blend into the white flannel on the design wall.  This quilt has only 7 Martha Negley fabrics in the quilt top.  It is 67" x 83.5".  The binding is the same light fabric as the quarter square triangles in every block and the border.  It has Hobbs 80/20 batting in it and was quilted by Robin Diaz.

The back is also a Martha Negley fabric, the same print in lavender as was in pink in the front of the quilt.  I didn't have enough of the fabrics matching the front to use on the back without lots of seams.

I solidified the layout for the bottom half of the Marcia Derse fabric 16 patch quilt top and have just 3 seams to go to finish that half.  Then I'll press both halves before sewing the last seam, finally pressing that last seam.

  1. Wow--2 finishes already, Wanda--nice work!! :))) I like that pink MN piece--and the lavender backing is just right;)))
58 here this morning and I am looking forward to some deck sitting and hand quilting on Christmas Ojos...
I am also scouring my stash (still not gotten to that reorganization yet!!) for backings for those 3 smaller pieces to layer them up for quilting later on this coming Fall..I don't know yet how I will quilt the embroidered piece--I've never quilted an all-over embroidered one...around each item or through the stitches??? I am pondering this...I hope the rest of your weekend is a good one...
