My grandparents lived in a house after they retired that had been a country school house and was moved into town and had beautiful wood plank floors and arched doorways between some of the rooms. I loved that house. Those country school buildings are becoming rare to find these days.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4049103935243328127.post-91803645746508613552016-10-17T09:52:23.720-05:002016-10-17T09:52:23.720-05:00Love your photo! I was 4 in 1952 so look to be a little older than that. In the 4th grade I went to a 2-room school house. In one room I had the Principle for my teacher and my mother was the teacher in the other room. Great memories...thanks! In 1952, I was four years old....I grew up in the city and in the suburbs, but have many, many happy memories of farm life as both of my grandfathers were farmers....one grew tobacco and soybeans, the other grew tobacco and cotton...I loved visiting, especially during harvest time. We lived a little over two hours away, so whenever we visited during harvest, I always brought back some of the cotton for "show and tell".... I used to love going in the tobacco curing barn, and in the smokehouse where the hams were curing....such great memories!!!
Thanks so much for sharing this today!!
Sandra B
scb304@juno.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4049103935243328127.post-38440423086444319612016-10-16T16:38:16.282-05:002016-10-16T16:38:16.282-05:00Love old photos. The clothes ad bikes are all reminiscent of the times we grew up in.
