I did her DWR class at the Australasian Quilt Convention in Melbourne this year and completed the quilt ( like Forever Garden on page 11) in time for the Canberra Quilters exhibition in August. I am now working on my second DWR quilt as part of a design group I belong to.
I always like to see what is happening in your garden - being in Australia everything is the opposite & I don't have to deal with the cold weather or the humidity you have. It gets below freezing here, but no snow and little humidity in my part of Australia (Queanbeyan).Elizabeth Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01539373087926933305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4049103935243328127.post-89374298644402500452016-09-14T02:51:05.039-05:002016-09-14T02:51:05.039-05:00Congratulations on your win! I've been following her blog for quite some time, and I got a chance to meet her and take a class from her at QuiltCon in Pasadena in February. She's a lot of fun and not at all pretentious. Very sweet and approachable; encouraging as a teacher. I'm really excited that you're going to make a quilt using one of her patterns! I have that book as well, but I don't know when I'll be ready to tackle one of the DWR quilts. I'd really like to, but they seem quite overwhelming and there are so many quilts I'll probably choose to make before I try to make one of those!Charlottahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03654576015036728600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4049103935243328127.post-86021907336984009062016-09-13T22:03:54.171-05:002016-09-13T22:03:54.171-05:00What a great win! So much fun ...Congrats on winning the fat quarters. So much fun to win something, just for you. I saw that wedding ring book---quite a lot of variety in the blocks. The one you chose will be an interesting, depending on your colors. I used to take care of indoor office "gardens" during a summer job. They will take up what space they are given. They did have trouble during the winter hours, when the atrium doors kept being opened by customers. The temp change was hard on them at the beginning and end of each season. We have many in the jungle section of the Henry Doorley Zoo. They are placed in different areas & have grown where allowed. The same is true with the koi in the pond. When my 25 Koi mysteriously disappeared 3 years ago, we received 3 koi from a grandson, and they have surpassed the size of the ones we had for 13 years.

Isn't is fun to win something? It's been a couple of years since I've won anything, but I keep on trying.

Enjoy your day. I will be in the pond cleaning out the dead leaves from the plants and moving the pots to the bottom before the water gets too cold for me to walk around in it.
Sylvia Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04564920688009926505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4049103935243328127.post-87030688915489075072016-09-13T07:35:39.370-05:002016-09-13T07:35:39.370-05:00Awesome!!! I love the batiks on your next project and will be following along with your progress.
Those veins on the elephant leaves look like you painted them on :) Maybe the 2nd one would have grown bigger if it had been planted in the ground, but I can understand why you would want to keep it in a pot - a lot easier to put in another place! We have sun today, it's very warm and no breeze. Glad I got all my cleaning done yesterday, ready for a quick visit today from my brother/wife before they go on the ferry from Hull to Holland/Europe for 6 weeks. They used to go via Dover but it's getting dangerous now, for passengers coming back home, as some illegals have started blocking the road into the Dover port, making you stop and demanding money or whatever :(Lesley Gilberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12391675183992422658noreply@blogger.com
