Small finishes....................

I finished the three little preemie quilts yesterday morning.  Someone who has no email link asked in a comment yesterday whether the edge is soft with the serging.  Serger thread is very fine and soft so yes the edge is soft.  The type of stitch that a serger makes is soft.  I believe that a regular zig zag instead would make the edge harder and not pleasant against a preemie's tender skin.
Now I have a total of 6 quilts to turn in Monday.  I have 6 more to do for next month and then all of my scraps are gone.

My last peonies are blooming.  The white ones are so fluffy and gorgeous but it seems we always get rain just when they are opening and most of them have rusty brown streaks and spots on them.  I found 2 good ones to pick.

Last night it was cool enough to open windows and wouldn't you know it, someone waits until 10:30 at night to go out and burn garbage or wet grass.  No one is supposed to burn after dark here in town.

Its always something.... noise or burning or barking dogs! We are in the humid... time here and there really isn't any cool anymore!!! especially when the fronts are coming from the south, but the fireflies are out!

That Peony is beautiful - I don't think I've seen a white one before (unless I saw your's last year haha). My red ones have all flowered and the petals gone but I did have more than last year. I took a photo the other day of my 'wild' Geranium after seeing yours - I'll have to share and compare :)

My preferred peony is white and then the soft petal pink. My bush is still very small but I did have three large white flowers. I think they are not planted in a good place, not enough sun.

Those little quilts look so soft, appealing, and cuddly! A wonderful, comforting gift for families facing uncertainty, fear, and potential heartbreak as they confront their baby's fragile state.

Beautiful bloom!! Here it is barking dogs ... SO MANY barking dogs! if only their owners could hear how annoying their dogs are at midnight.

Those little preemie quilts will be cherished by the families.

WHY would someone burn that late? Crazy

My pink ones bloom last and they have the most delicate, heavenly scent. It is enchanting. I like the dark pink ones also.

Finishing up your big production of preemie gowns and quilts just warms my heart. As much as your white peony blossom.

And what is it about these people who wait till it is 10 or 11 at night, and you've opened up your windows to cool off your house, and they decide to burn their garbage. It is as bad as a meandering skunk on a hot summer night. I thought it only happened out here. It is illegal here, but to catch the culprit is the issue. Was surprised at how many others responded to this also.

Love your preemie quilts!
We also have illegal burning in our area. It is only allowed on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday during day and you have to call in first to see if it is in fact a burn day.

I got frustrated every year with the white peonies - like you said it always trains right after they bloom, and they either wilt or brown. This year I decided to take them out to save myself the aggravation. I miss the beauty and the smell, but I've got lots of other things to look at.
