Progress report...........

It was so much fun to see my art quilter friends yesterday.  The last time they were here was the end of November.  We cancelled in January the week of all of the snow and then decided to skip February.

Last night I started working on this quilt again.  The bottom horizontal rows are just loose pieces on the design wall and floor.  I am making a different size than any listed in the pattern so I wasn't sure how much of each piece I needed.  I am constructing the little 3 piece units now that I need to finish the bottom rows.  There is also a row of little squares across the top of the quilt so I cut most of them too.  I think I just have 2 more squares to cut and then I need to start piecing all of those units.  I might switch the blocks in the bottom 2 horizontal rows and see if I like it that way better too.  Last chance to try that.

Using the same red print in the vertical rows really makes it look woven. I didn't realize that from the picture yesterday. That is a very cool effect. Glad you had a good time with the art quilters.

Good thing your Art Quilters arrived and hopefully left before that crazy rain, sleet, snow and back to rain storm arrived.

I think you are right about switching out the bottom 2 rows of blocks, since it now looks as though there are 2 rows of the lighter patterned blocks together. It's going to be fabulous no matter what you decide.

This piece gets better with every growing row.

I don’t know about changing that last row: I think sharks maybe should be at the bottom! Just kidding.

What a spiffy design! Glad your group met during the day. The weather was pretty bad last evening. (I was grateful they called off the meeting that was scheduled.)

I like this pattern. The colors are great in it too. Hope you are not getting the newest storm.

I love the fish swimming across in that last row. :-)

That's going to be a stunning quit. It is so interesting how different the two colourways look when you showed them in an earlier post.

Wow that was fast! I’d expected this quilt to grow a lot more slowly, but boom! It’s basically done, you say? I adore it, but am almost always disappointed when you stop. LOL. I have a tendency to make my quilts a size or two bigger than you do. But then, I’m a bigger person myself, so that may have something to do with what I consider a lap quilt, for example.
Regardless of size, this one is a winner! Still looking forward to seeing the completed product.
