One more scrappy star..........

Last night I decided to look at all of the leftover triangle squares, sets of 2 mostly, one set of 8 matching.  I was able to put together one more star so if there is one I don't think works well I have a substitute to put in.  In fact I'm pretty sure this one will make it into the quilt.

Here are the real leftovers now.  There isn't enough consistency in values to use them in another block.

Yesterday was the beginning of a run of sunny warm days that we will be having.  I mowed the front and side yards but the back yard didn't need to be done.

Your new star is beautiful, of course! I thought about you as I was looking at fabrics the other day...."What would Wanda pick?" went through my mind! I have learned so much seeing how you use your fabrics, how you choose this one over that one for specific places in your block. I have always loved Kaffe Fassett fabrics (I knew about him before he started designing fabrics and I am NOT a knitter!), but there are some of his fabrics I have not been particularly drawn to. However, I have seen how you used those in quilts and come to love those too! You definitely expand my horizons! (Just to clarify, there are just a FEW of his fabrics I have not been fond of.) Thank you for taking us along as you choose a new block, the fabrics to use, the placement of the fabrics in the block, the blocks in the quilt, and finally the borders or no borders. You inspire me!

What will you do with the leftovers? Do you have a system for saving them for a future use? They are very pretty!

The new block reminds me of warm sunshine- like at sunset. Even the leftovers look pretty terrific together.

I hope this one does make it into the quilt because it is beautiful. It also makes me smile as it is bright and cheery. This quilt is going to be spectacular!

Like the latest star a lot. We have sunny breezy weather here (thankfully). Just came in from planting the pots in the back yard - mandevillas, guara (deep pink) for the butterflies and hummingbirds, vinca, and coleus in several shades of green.

Love these blocks and even like the leftover triangles. So much pretty stitching happening at your place! I saw a cardinal at our feeder today and thought of yours all the way down in Illinois.
