A productive day.......

While my 2 friends were here sewing I made one 6" strawberry block for my Farm Girl Vintage quilt.  I started laying out the second one and need to cut 4 green squares before I can sew it.

Last night while watching 3 hours of TV I pieced the last 24 blocks to finish a quilt.  I have 72 blocks made now and I think the layout will be 7 x 10 which will make a quilt about 61 x 88".
In the morning before my friends got here I rearranged a little more and this is an almost final layout.
I had 36 blocks and need 35 so I pulled out my favorite block to be used in another quilt.

I am questioning whether I need to pull out my second favorite block too and make a replacement for that spot.  When I make my decision I will proceed.

My Columbines are blooming now.  It was windy so the flowers are a little out of focus.

The pale pink ones are not as pretty this year as they usually are.  The color seems a little more faded.

One of the lilac bushes is just loaded with blooms this year. They are a pale color compared to the bushes with larger blossoms.

I can smell those lilacs from here (smiling).

Your strawberry looks good enough to eat. I'm curious as to why you would choose your favorite blocks to use for the back and not leave them on the front. Of course, I would have a hard time choosing a favorite block of those.

You got a lot done yesterday! I must feel good to make progress on several different projects. I don't have anything blooming in the yard yet except for the Lenten roses. The cora bells are just starting to send up flower stalks.

As always, you've done a lot of sewing the past few days and nice colour choices. When I first saw your Columbines I thought they were Aquilegia - I have one in flower but the rain knocked off most of the petals grrr At least the rain was good for the 3 Clematis, which are all in bloom now. The Fuchsia are slowly catching up but they will be in flower for months, which I love.

I love all your star blocks, Wanda! I don't know how I could possibly decide on one to remove!! I have really enjoyed seeing these grow in number and I am looking forward to see what you decide to use for your sashing...
Love seeing the pictures you post of your yard...such pretty plants!
Thanks for sharing all your quilting projects and your garden with those of us who read your blog!

Pretty busy sewing! All looks terrific. The tulips are gone and not much blooming. The tree peonies have big fat buds and I am battling the red lily bug on all my lilies.

When I first saw those purple blocks I thought, "Hmmm...what is that going to look like put together???" Then I saw your partial quilt top on another post and thought, "Wow!" I truly never expected to like it one bit, but I love it.

I have been following your block production on the batik quilt. The blocks just get richer and more colorful!! I am cleaning out my sewing room completely, so I can control back. I am going to paint the walls and replace the carpet, while all the stuff is out. I so enjoy watching what you are making, while I wind down at night. I can hardly wait to get to an empty room!! Glad you had a good Mothers Day with family.

I'm enjoying fresh strawberries now, the flavor is almost as intense as the colors in yours. Great strawberry, and the rest too!

Super strawberry, I could see a table runner made up with strawberry blocks ready for summer.
Who couldn't love columbines, mine are settled down for Winter now but roll on Spring and I might have another try with a lilac bush after seeing this photo of yours in full bloom - beautiful.
