Still cutting and sewing tumblers...........

I haven't decided if I like the 3" and 6" flannel tumbler blocks together but I have decided that the 9" tumblers will be too large to add and I will just do a quilt of all 9" tumblers later.

I have the 6" tumblers laid out 2 different ways, one like arrows with points cut off and the other with seams matching.  I need to add one more to the end of those rows but can't do it until I know the layout so I know which end of the row gets the extra piece.

I have 2 more sets of 4 rows of 3" tumblers grouped and ready to sew.   I definitely need more variety in the 6" tumblers if they are going to be used in the same quilt.  So.....I will sew more 3" rows and cut more 6" tumblers.  As I cut the 6" tumblers I will create more scraps to cut 3" tumblers.

I love the look. The 9 inch would be difficult to work in, but it is very attractive. Very masculine. Chris

My initial reaction was that the combination was "disconcerting" or confusing to the eye. But I really find the lower 6" block arrangement to be the confusing element. The upper 6" blocks reflect the arrangement of the smaller ones, and if the lower one were changed I think there would be harmony. A final bottom row of 6" would be a nice touch. The more I return to the photo, the more I am liking it!!!!!

I just saw a quilt made of HST and she started with the smallest on top for several rows and then the HST got larger and larger.. it was very nice and that is a suggestion. I do like all the colors of your fabrics.

I can see your tumblers are fun to work with. And I know you will design the perfect layout.
Keep tumbling along ~

It reminds me of a kitchen cabinet, so I started thinking bookcase quilt maybe if you added "shelves" between the smaller and larger tumblers. Just a thought. Love you creativity and drive.

I like the look of them together. I think I prefect the arrangement of the upper 6" blocks over the lower ones.
