Binding...........

I chose the binding for my colorwash and sewed it on.  I have 2 sides of hand stitching done.

It looks a little lighter in this photo than in real life.  It is a grayed purple.

I also moved the black/gray/white TAW strips to  the double design wall.  I moved a few more strips and decided on the bottom right as the center of the quilt.

If you have never made a Trip Around the World it is probably hard for you to visualize the center from the photo above.  I unpicked a few more strips so you can see it better.

What you don't see in the photos above are the beautiful tone on tone black prints.

Here is another one.

There are several of them so the quilt will have much more personality close up than from a distance.

Yes, I like this layout better. The computer just doesn't show the different tones and values as we can see them. Know this one is very rich and striking looking.
And good luck today with the doctor:) Prayers.

Thanks for showing close ups of the tones. Just wonderful values. Nice binding finish on the colorwash.

All of those tone on tones will add a lot of depth and interest to the quilt when it is viewed in person. I think that is one reason I love hand dyed fabrics.

Good morning Wanda......This will be a very elegant quilt with all the beautiful batiks. I'm looking forward to seeing it all in it's flimsy state, so we can appreciate the beauty of the TAW.

You are cranking out the projects! Is the colorwash a new piece? The TAW is so interesting with all the different blacks, grays, and whites. It is going to be a stunning piece!
