Lots of studio time...........

I spent more time in the studio yesterday than I did all week combined so far.  My two friends came over and we all made progress on our projects.  First I sewed the cross seams on the 34" colorwash.

Now I have two colorwash wallhangings to quilt and bind.

Next I started cutting blocks for the Seed Packet quilt (see previous post here).  They aren't in any particular order here.  I need to switch them over to a double design wall and keep adding more squares.  Most of these fabrics are Philip Jacobs prints.  There is one Alexander Henry fabric and one Benartex fabric

Last night I started the hand sewing on the binding of this quilt and got two sides done and a little way on the third side.

Beautiful tops. I hope to finish binding a project today. I made the mistake of using a batik when another fabric would have done just as well.

I've never seen so many large print blooms before; in fact I've never seen any that I remember, only on your blog - the detail on them up close must be wonderful - love all of them :)

I love your use of color. So, vibrant and inspiring. I've always love bright colors. And, your combinations are inspiring. The seed packet quilt is great way to have spring/summer year round especially since winter has already begun here in Maine

You're really cranking them out! Are you trying to up the count in time for the end of the year? I love the way those big blooms look, that's going to be a fabulous project. And the polka dot binding turned out every bit as great as I thought it would. That might be one of my all time favorite of your quilts, just because I love those fabrics so much. Kaffe is amazing, but I am not as big a fan of his as many people - you included - and have never made a quilt exclusively of his fabrics. In a way, they're almost too much for me. Too confusing to even shop from because it's too much! Or maybe I've just decided it's too much and I don't even try most of the time? It's almost as if you have to buy all of them - which I can't possibly do - or there's no way to just pick just one or two (which I have occasionally nevertheless managed to do, but eh is generally too confusing, LOL).
