Stonehenge quilt........

My friend came over yesterday so I could cut 2 quilts, one for each of us from the Stonehenge fabrics.  I didn't have enough very dark fabrics so I added 4 batiks.  She pressed and I cut 30 fabrics.  Then we sorted them into their groups of 3.
The blocks are 16" square and the pattern is "It's Good to be Square" by Roxanna and Stephanie Prescott for A Quilter's Dream.  I had to piece 2 blocks to see how they would look. I'm always fascinated by the floating square type patterns.
When my friend was done pressing and I was still cutting she started sorting my Philip Jacobs fabrics by number (on the selvage).  She got these 3 stacks done.
There was this much more to sort and I did that last night.  Now that I am re-acquainted with all of the fabrics I need to decide what I'm going to make with them.

I zoomed in to see how you put that block together. It will be interesting to see how it looks with more each side. I love seeing how your blocks turn out :)
Another sunny day but not hot. I'll need to water the garden tonight. USA 50 / UK 22

I made this quilt for my niece's wedding in all black/brown/tan like your block. I'll be anxious to see yours with the more colorful blocks added.

This will be an interesting quilt to watch build. So far, I really like it. We had a big storm come through here last night, is it going north or south ?

Have same question Anonymous does: Why sort by numbers?

Fun to see your work in progress -- those newly folded fabrics are divine.

I, too, would like to know why you have those fabrics in numerical order?

My cousin and I recently admired that pattern, It's Good to be Square. I am hoping she bought one so I can borrow it. Why didn't I buy it myself??

Phillip Jacobs is one of my favorite designers, though I have no where near your amount of his beautiful fabrics. The quilt project looks really interesting. I'll be watching to see where you go with it. We are finally getting a little rain tonight and it is so welcome!

I wasn't going to ask, but now I see that I am not the only curious soul about your sorting of fabric by number. May I ask the reason for that method?

I share a fascination with you of the floating block illusion. I got to looking and three out of the last five projects I've been working on have that concept. Two I haven't shown yet, but the first one is the Pretzel Twist. I like this block!
