Preparing for cutting...........

Yesterday I cut a strip off each of the Keiko Goke Japanese fabrics that I want to use for my Strips 'n Curves quilt.  I needed 3 different widths depending on the way the largest template would be cut from the fabric.  This first one is lengthwise stripes with the stripe being cut on the diagonal.
The second cut is using the template with the long edges on the straight of grain.

The third one is crosswise stripes with the stripes on the diagonal.

By cutting these strips I won't have to be wrestling with large pieces of fabric when cutting the pieces.

This group is the rest of the fabrics and I don't know at this point if I will use them in the quilt so I didn't cut strips from them.  I will just keep them out and decide if they work later.

If you have been reading my blog for awhile you might remember I made a trip around the world quilt from this group of fabrics in 2014.

My hydrangea blooms are at three different stages right now.  They will be all white soon.

We got a third of an inch of rain Monday night so I didn't have to water my tomato plants yesterday.

Really need some rain here. Very dry and watering like crazy. I have never seen any of that fabric in person, can't wait to see what you do with it.

Your fabrics are very pretty, I had forgotten the TAW quilt. We also got a heavy rain on Monday night too.

really love all your fabric choices! can't wait to see what they will all look like together.
Heat wave going on here - mid 90's and I have to go to Little Rock today which means closer to a 100 with the heat island effect - I have a feeling I will be heading straight home after the appointment and skip the shopping! I would prefer to be in the sewing room anyhow.
Picked the first of the tomatoes last night and this morning.

This quilt is going to be so cool and I can't wait to see the quilt you end up making with the scrap pieces! We are suppose to get rain tonight, but I am not holding my breath.

I love it when you start a new project - can't wait for tomorrows post to see progress you've made :)
We have had rain on and off for 3 days so I didn't need to do any watering. The sun is out now and just the right warmth.

Just finished scrolling over the last few posts and always get so inspired seeing your awesome pieces. I just wish I had your intuitive creativity with combining fabrics for each piece. I am especially so envious of your color washes, they are supreme. Love your old favorite in blues and purples also. As if I didn't already know how many years you have been creating.... (*._,*)

I especially love the black and white fabrics! But what a nice collection all together, I'm anxiously awaiting the next step - which has probably already happened, I know, I'm always behind!

What template set are you using? Love the blocks and fabric.
