Sorting through the storm.......

It was a sorting kind of day.  Earlier in the day yesterday I was going through things in the basement.  Last night the thunderstorms rolled through so I unplugged my machines and sorted scraps while I watched TV.
In the afternoon I walked around my gardens to see what was new.  The Cranesbill was starting to bloom by the Brunnera.  There is also wild strawberry and violet leaves in the photo.

The Cranesbill by the porch is in full bloom.

This is the early peonies.  They will probably bloom before Memorial Day.  The rest will bloom a few days to a week after this one blooms.

When I was back in the kitchen I saw this huge bunny laying down under a bird feeder.  There is a mourning dove in front of him at the right.  I have seen them standing there eating under the feeders but have never seen a reclining bunny there.

We had storms too.... quite a few these last few days... one that even had the sirens going off! That reclining bunny is probably taking a break from motherhood.... rest and a meal... in one place!!!!

I had the windows open all night - no storms here. I haven't seen much wildlife, but the deer wander thru my backyard and the security light comes on. I have heard the owls hooting in the early evenings several times too.

Thanks for a chuckle today. In my youth we would unplug the precious TVs during a storm. Now we're more concerned with out sewing machines!

I love seeing pictures of your garden.

My peony bloomed this week and the blooms are so heavy I have to tie them up The constant rain has beat them up so I'm going to pick a few for the house. My iris are still blooming and I am very curious why the yellow are blooming in areas I don't remember planting. I love your resting bunny, such a sweet picture.

It is so nice to see everything coming to life again. I love that big rabbit just enjoying a rest in the grasses.

Looks like that bunny has been eating well and must be feeling very safe. Nice.

I also was sorting through a huge bag of scraps that friends gave me. I have to make piles of similar sizes, separating the batiks, cottons, and childrens fabric and getting it all ready to iron and cut. Not done yet. No storms, just sunshine here! I am so sorry I did not buy the Accuquilt Studio on sale. I wonder if they will ever have it on sale again.

Probably the bunny had just been through our yard and had a romp with the dogs! LOL

That's a very long bunny! I was surprised to see three bunnies all together right outside my back door, hopping around as if inspecting the dog houses, a couple of days ago. The dogs were inside my house, of course, not in the dog houses, or one of them at least would've chased the bunnies away immediately. My other dog doesn't have much of a prey drive, but I doubt the bunnies would've hung around long enough to discover that he's not much of a threat! I stood inside the storm door and watched the bunnies for quite a while until they quietly hopped off one by one. They were all grown bunnies, about the size of yours, though, I think, not as long (but I never saw them stretched out!) I so enjoy the little wildlife encounters like that, as well as watching att the birds at my feeders - even those I can't identify.
