Calendar girl and February recap............

My two friends came over to sew yesterday.  One of them is a calendar girl!!!  She submitted an entry to be in the Ruby Short McKim's 100th anniversary calendar.  She was selected to be Miss March!  The calendar is a celebration of 100 years since Ruby's first pattern was published.  Many of us used Ruby's book of patchwork patterns in the 1970's when not much else was available.
In February I had 4 finishes and three of them were new tops also made in February.

I made 5 more quilt tops too.  It was a busy month since I gave a program and workshop to the local guild too.

Here is a photo from the trunk show.  I'm the arm behind the pole on the right.  I would like to think I'm so thin that I could hide behind the pole but the reality is that I'm behind one of the colorwash pieces.

What an honor for your friend! The poppy may be my favorite McKim design.

Congrats to your friend. Such an honor, and what a beautiful pattern she created. Love the clean, crisp lines and the intense colors in the quilt. She should be very proud!

I enjoyed seeing the trunk show photo and noticed, that from such a distance, the 3rd, colorwash from the left, gives the appearance of being the head of a tiger. Probably just me, but that's what it looks like to my eyes. They are all gorgeous and enjoyed seeing them all in a row. Thanks for sharing.

You have had a very productive month! Your friend's quilt is gorgeous! I don't think I would have the patience to make all those poppy blocks!

Wanda, I just want to say how much I enjoy your blog. I read it every day and am always inspired by both your creativity and your productivity!

I just finished my biggest quilt yet, a queen-sized sixteen patch, and I named it "Exuberant Color." Thanks for being a source of inspiration.

(If you want to peek at my quilt, it's currently at the top of my Instagram feed, https://www.instagram.com/louisehornor )

Gorgeous Poppy Quilt! I love it although I could never make it.
My 4 year old granddaughter sat on my lap after breakfast as I looked at quilts this morning on the ipad. When we got to your blog, I looked at your finishes larger size. Jolene looked thoughtfully at all of them and said I love them all. She started pointing out what she liked. She said she loved the quilt that kept making diamonds. Maybe there is hope to pass down my quilting!
