Binding........

I finished the binding on the first 6 mug rugs.  I had forgotten how long it takes.  These are about 6.5" x 9".  They all have the same fabric for binding so I didn't have to change thread color.  This post explains how I do the binding.

They all have the same backing fabric too.  I'm pretty sure this peacock feather print is from the 1990s.  I think there was an updated version more recently in a little smaller scale.

They make nice gifts. I have a stack to finish the binding on also. Chris

They look good.....and I love that peacock fabric. I had some but it is long gone.

I love the way you do binding! I sew it on the same way and it is so much better than my handstitching. It is strong in the wash and never gets loose. Love the colors in the mug rugs!

Those are some fun mug rugs! I would hate to spill anything on them because they are so pretty! That backing fabric is fabulous!

Binding those little buggers does take a lot of time, but they look beautiful.

I made 13 potholders yesterday. Yes, the binding is tedious!

How pretty. I live having lots of little gifts things done.

Your binding looks so good. I made about 30 mug rugs last year, and after putting binding on two of them, decided to sandwich them pillowcase style. The hand sewing to close them after I turned them right side out was about three inches on each one, but didn't take long during TV commercials. I quilted them after that. Not incredible, but I'd make them again that way rather than binding (lazy me)!

I've never made mug rugs, but this impressive collection inspires me!
