A give away....if you have an embroidery machine.......

I had seen Lapel Stick on several other blogs and they were hosting a giveaway for it.  I contacted the company and they sent me some samples.  I would like to share with other machine embroiderers today.  I had been looking for a nice glue stick that didn't leave a residue in the area around the stitching, and also one that didn't gum up my scissors when trimming.
I loaded this old Amazing Designs pattern on my memory stick and brought it to my machine.  Here I am preparing to sew the outline of the birdhouse.  It was stitched once on the green fabric to show me the location and to give me an idea how large to cut the applique fabric.  I used the Lapel Stick glue to hold the fabric in place.
After stitching the bird house outline, I gently lifted the edges of the birdhouse fabric and trimmed close to the stitching line.

Now the machine is doing a tacking zig zag around the perimeter of the birdhouse.

The birdhouse stitching is all completed and the bird has been straight stitched and is being trimmed.

I wish I would have had some of this lapel stick when I was shopping one day and lost a button when trying on clothes.  Not one store had a safety pin that I could borrow.  Remember the good old days when they pinned price tags on garments?

My giveaway today is just for people who own embroidery machines and want to try the Lapel Stick for applique.  Tomorrow I will have a giveaway for everyone.  In your giveaway entry comment tell me whether you have done any applique with your embroidery machine.  If you are a NO REPLY you are automatically disqualified unless you leave your email address in your comment using AT instead of @ and DOT instead of a period.

I will choose a winner at midnight tonight.

I have not done any appliqué on my machine as of yet. Still learning it. I bought an Elna Expressive 900. Love it.

Yes I do applique with an embroidery machine. In the past I tried using a repositional glue stick like "post it notes" and it still left a residue. I would love to try this new type. I have a Brother 770 embroidery machine.

I don't have an embroidery machine, but I use lapel stick when doing my string piecing. When doing a spiderweb, I glue the kite to the paper pattern first - on about 5 at a time.

I've only done a few applique projects because I don't really know how. Everyone says "It's so easy". Thanks for the giveaway.

I have an embroidery machine and have done a fair amount of appliqué. This looks like an interesting product that might make the process of getting pieces lined up a little easier. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, and thanks for the giveaway.

Applique is always an option, my granddaughter's baby quilt, my friend's grandson, burp rags, diaper bags and quilt labels have all used applique.

I've actually done quite a bit of machine embroidery on quilts made for family members and love doing it. This product looks as if it would make a significant difference when working with applique. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity Wanda.

I don't have an embroidery machine, but I gotta get me some of that stuff. I've heard good things about it.

I do a lot of applique on my embroidery machine, but I usually use the spray adhesive to put it down. This would be a better idea.

I gifted myself a Bernina last month for a milestone birthday. Sadly the embroidery unit is still in the box. I would love to try the applique, though, and the glue stick looks like a great tool.

I don't have a machine, so don't enter me into the contest. I have been using Elmer's School Glue and just love it. I used it yesterday to match seams on a quilt block. I added a very small stream right at the seams and they turned out perfect. I also love the Elmer's School glue sticks which are purple and turn clear. It works great for applique.

I bought my embroidery machine from you at the Sandwich Fair.... too many years ago to remember. Love it after all these years and continue to use it. I did not know there was a glue stick out there for this. I am excited to give it a try whether I am selected or not. (*._,*) And just love the bird and house appliqué.

Thanks for offering this chance to us!!

Yes, I enjoy doing applique on my embroidery machine. Applique combined with embroidery gives pieces such a professional look. And I can change the look of it just by changing fabric or thread colors.

I have done a little embroidery on my Bernina 830, but really need to spend some serious bonding time with it. The lapel stick looks like a great produvt for holding everything in place. I'd love to give it a try.

Hi Wanda, I would love to try this product. I have a Brother embroidery machine and have always had trouble keeping my pieces in place. This may be the answer to my difficulty of keeping my fabric straight. Thanks, RGN
