In progress project.....

This project has been on a design wall in my basement for about 2 months.  I was inspired by one I saw in an Etsy shop.  I have no idea what measurements were used in that one but I had a bunch of 2" strips of striped fabric and some 6.5" squares already cut so I am working with them.  It will be a small quilt, just an instant gratification quilt--all of the pieces already cut and easy piecing.  I didn't do any sewing yesterday.  I was at the family party for 6 hours and I will see family again today.
This is a Red Penstemon plant in my back garden.  It is in the shade for more hours than in the sun.  The two plants in the front garden are a much deeper red leaf and are in the sun for more hours.  There are lots of Lily of the Valley and Violets in this shot too.  They have spread all over the back garden.

I love how you have showcased the bold prints.

I love those ruddy leaves. and look at the little pink blossom shards against the dark dirt. I didn't find any violets, but the lily of the valley are so sweet.

Oh I like the tiling effect in your instant gratification quilt a lot. Perfect with the white squares...good pattern to showcase some lovely prints....hugs, Julierose

The instant gratification is great. Those large prints get to show their full glory in this one.

Very interesting instant gratification layout ( great name for a quilt too!) Will you leave the white spaces white?

I could do one of those quilt tops. (*._,*) Just my speed. Your fabrics are always stunning.

Great garden photo. I saw ALL the plants even the violets. And the tip of one of the blossoms.

Love the look of this one and realize I have almost every fabric you have in it so far -- you obviously have great taste in fabric - LOL! Anyway I need to file this idea. It would be fun to work in my stash of stripes with my Kaffe and Brandon and Phillip. Have a great weekend!

I am in LOVE with this quilt and would love to make one like it, especially since I have 35 fat quarters of Kaffe Fassett's gorgeous fabric. I would probably make it a little larger, so it could be used as a lap quilt, or maybe a little larger. I'm salivating over the prospects for this project, but don't have much in the way of striped fabic, so would have to incorporate something else in it's place. I have so many projects that will need to be done before I can begin on this one, such as baby things for a new great grandchild and some table runners I am working on for Christmas gifts, about 40 of them, but maybe I will put it up on the design wall, so that I will be able to look at and touch it.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I've had the fabric for over a year and have been searching for just the right project for it.

Wow! I like your new project. Are these left over pieces from other projects or do you randomly cut pieces and then box them up for a future project? You always seem to have just the right pieces already cut for many of your projects. It amazes me how you do this.
