Binding......

In the end I decided on a black binding but I am using a mottled batik instead of a plain solid color.  I think the batik has a better chance of not fading with age.

I decided to do it all by machine so here is one long edge finished, three to go.

Hi, Wanda. I'm really liking the black and white border on this. Quite dramatic!
best, nadia

The border sets off the design quite well, don't you think ?~!

Wow! What drama, just love it. I love quilts that just are so dynamic in colors and finish! Wish I could accomplish that.

I always like a black with visual texture better.

Its looking GOOD! One day I will remember to do a binding completely by machine before I start stitching it down by hand!!

I wish I could say I am really good with stitching both sides of the the binding by machine. It is a skill I am still working on.

Beautiful! I do all of my binding by machine these days. I feel they are stronger than my hand stitching.

I know I am echoing what everyone else is saying, but I also like the border and binding choices.

I had to enlarge the photo to actually see that your black was really a mottled black. Of course it is. Your bindings are always the best. It is as important as the entire quilt.

The word that comes to mind is Funky! I wonder where I dug that up from and if it is relevant!

Using a batik with its tight weave for a binding is a brilliant idea!! It would also sew down nicely by machine. Another gorgeous quilt that will be done quickly to add to the finish column. You work so well---and are so organized!!!

I think black binding was exactly what it needed. I'm glad you decided that too. And you're right, blacks do fade so much, don't they?
