Ready to sew..............

It still isn't perfect but it is better than 2 days ago.  I'm going to sew it together today. I said yesterday I would have 3 blocks left over but I forgot there were 3 blocks laying on a table in the basement so I had 6, almost enough to make this a row wider.  I made 3 more blocks and added the row on the right so it will finish at 60" x 70" now.
I have decided this one is ready to sew too.  I took the blocks off the wall and up to my main floor studio.

I shoveled 3 more inches of new snow late in the afternoon.  It was light and fluffy but I still had to lift the shovel 24" or higher to throw the snow over the piles that were already there.  Next snowstorm is Thursday. Subzero temps overnight Sunday and Monday.

Love the pastel top. I don't normally work in pastels.

nice arrangements on both quilts - love them. I was shoveling snow off the deck too yesterday - once again the weatherman was off and it didn't get above freezing - wonder about today woke up to 30 so it is possible but more snow tomorrow - unbelievable. shoveling is good exercise but be careful :) don't want you to injure yourself and have to take a break from your quilting!!

Just reading about all of your snow shoveling wears me out. It is a shame you don't live in Charlotte, NC!

There will be so many colorful beautiful batik strings in these two pieces quilt tops!A feast for the soul.
I'm sorry to hear the north is being hammered with so much cold and snow this winter.

Your quilts are so beautiful! Where do you get your energy?

The pastel one is nice, but my fav is the top one. It looks like all the dye ran to the bottom, and that is super cool.
We have enough snow -- but it is really cold here and definitely hibernating weather.

Every time I read about snow shoveling I remember living in IL and doing the same thing. Maybe it is not so bad to have cold in AL. ;-) Love the strings, both are outstanding.

I love the way the first one has come out. It really gives room for the imagination to take hold!

You will have a nice day seeing it all come together. :)

Your doing the right thing staying in and making quilts. I like the way you have arranged the blocks on the first one. Looks like you will have got through lots of scraps.

I love your new series, especially the one at the top of the post. It makes me want to get busy sewing. But instead I'm headed out to shovel snow (after procrastinating on the computer a little). Haha. Flying from Denver to Connecticut yesterday, the ground was white the whole trip. Lots of good quilting going on, I hope.

Oh Wanda ~ I love both of these quilt tops ! You really captured the great color in your photo's today.

I was so smug all January without snow here in our mountain valley, when you were getting dumped on... WELL it doesn't take long to catch up with you... it has snowed every day since last Friday and I am the only one that can shovel right now. It literally takes me 3 - 4 hours of shoveling depending how much snow we get over night.
(and that is moving right along with out breaks) Today was a hum dinger with almost 8" over night and still snowing.... Wish I knew how to run my husband's big tractor... (*._,*)

Both those tops are fabulous! The bottom one makes me think of a box of pastels - and spring. I think we're all craving spring right now!
It has been snowing here all day. It seems like this winter is never going to end!

I am liking the second layout more and more.

I love both of the quilts as usual. I am now sick of snow and want to sit in the sunshine without a jacket on. Looks as if we may finally get above freezing soon. It is hard to believe that when it is so cold out this morning. I have a fairly large driveway and when they plow it the widest area has over 6' of snow on the sides. Hopefully this will all be a memory.

It's hard to know what's a "perfect" quilt. If you made one, would you be done? I think they're both exquisite in their own way. But I probably do prefer the one with more variation in color. That's a question on personal taste though, not level of perfection!
