No star block for Monday...........

Yesterday was the day to take the gifts to our church sewing circle for packing.  They will be blessed next Sunday and then delivered in time for the Christmas party next week.  I had a little time in the morning to sit and sew these 8 blocks together for a table runner before I left.

The roads were pretty clean but the temperature was only in the teens yesterday.  It was down to 0 by the time I went to bed.  More snow is predicted Wednesday so I rescheduled my eye appointment in Chicago to January.  Wednesday is supposed to be the coldest day this week and there in no sense in risking my son's and my life for a 3 month check up.  The black ice on the roads in these conditions is the worst problem.  Now we just have to hope for good weather in the middle of January.
On the way home I stopped at Michael's and bought four of the square boxes for my shelf unit.  They were on sale for $5.39.  I have already filled them with my 'less than quarter yard' pieces of batiks.

I did three more errands on the way home and hopefully will be able to stay home the rest of the really cold days this week.

Sometimes getting organized is the best 'creative' time! You find things, or you get an idea, or you make the decision to abandon... all good!

Cold is AN UNDERSTATEMENT. It is deep freeze out there. Stay warm and get some more organizing done. Chris

I love all your organization tips and ideas. I hope I can use a lot more of them as I go along.

When I was shopping last week I looked and looked at those square boxes. I even had them in my basket for a while before putting them back. They are the perfect way to use your new unit.

hope the weather will clear up for you - and for the rest of us. I love the storage boxes too and have about 4 or more myself

Only $5.39 a box? What a great deal! It was 27 degrees when I left for work this morning so that is balmy compared to zero! The sun is shining now and the black ice on the parking lots is starting to disappear. Stay warm!

Fun Festive table runner Wanda. In my opinion you get the award for being "Ms. Precise Organizer" of 2013 ! Your studio's reflect your neat and tidied organization. And I know that shelving unit will soon be totally full of those nice boxes.

p.s. we woke up to 22 degrees... a heat wave !

Wanda,

I don't know if I missed it, but I have been looking for any posts on what brand of white cabinet you show with all the storage boxes in them. It looks pretty nice. I am trying to re-organize my sewing room. Do the shelves move in that unit, or are they exactly as you have them. Where did you purchase it?

Thanks,

Lucy M
