Backing and border fabric.......

I had chosen this red print fabric for the backing of this quilt earlier this year.  I also knew there would be a big piece leftover on the lengthwise grain.

I knew it was going to be the perfect border for this quilt.  I wanted a fabric that would melt right into the piecing without really jumping out as a border.  I got it sewn on yesterday afternoon.

I love these twin blooms right next to each other.  They opened at the same time and are so pretty.

Oh, the power of red! Yours works all together with all the many pieces, not a simple task. The quilts have so much energy when I look at them, they don't just sit there! I am doing a watercolor of my Christmas cactus just focusing on a few blooms. Maybe I will get it done soon and put it on my blog.

Great choice of a border, once again. That quilt
is stunning like all of them, but I am partial to red.
This year I am getting some cactus, just love them.
Take Care, Marilyn

It is a beautiful fabric and does royal duty as a backing and as the border. Just perfect! I have some tiny little buds on a couple of my Christmas cacti. Hoping they grow into flowers.
