A few more strips........

Some of the strips I added finish about a quarter inch wide so I'm going to need a lot of strips to get this up to 15 or 16".
This block was a lot smaller than some others so it has an extra row added to be about the same size.  I have 24 blocks all finishing around 8-9" right now.

I took this photo yesterday morning and another bud is totally open already.

I mowed the grass yesterday and I'm wondering if it will be the last time this year.

The small strips don't fill in the space well, but they add a wonderful element to the over all look of the block. Plus you are using small pieces which is a plus. We have to mow today. Chris

It might be the last lawn mow.... we are nearly at peak in color and by Friday, expecting a low around 32... Hoping for a frost (pollen killer). Turned the heat on to get the dust of the elements yesterday... It will be winter soon. Cactus looks bright and refreshing!

Beautiful little strips of color-still working on taming my crumbs and strips-making progress.

Love your blocks. Those skinny strip trimming make the projects grow slowly, but they add so much drama!
Cactus is beautiful. Showing off big time!

Your blocks just dazzle. I enjoy watching them grow.

And OMG Wanda ~ your cactus blossoms are so pretty. Like dancing ballerina's in full dress.

I'm new to your blog so I've begun reading the archives - I'm up to 1/2010. Thanks for the wonderful quilts, pics and tips. My favorite so far is the yellow Sunshine quilt - a great layout. Did I miss a tutorial for the journal covers? I'm still reading.
