Sewing, reading.............

Yesterday I totally finished 8 of the tote bags for the Presbytery mission project and cut handles for 5 more.  I'll work on them a little this morning and what doesn't get done then will be done at the church sew in this afternoon.
Then I sat down and looked through the latest Kaffe book.  There are several interesting quilts in it. I rarely use the same selection of fabrics that he used if I make one of them but I really enjoy seeing how he uses his fabrics.

It's that time of year again to bring in cuttings of the Coleus.  I'm going to plant them this year after they root.  I have too many varieties to fit on the windowsill all winter.

Maybe a small greenhouse window over the kitchen sink... for more greenery in the winter? As long as you are replacing windows.....

They all look good your bags. The Presbyterian Church here doesn't have a Sewing Circle anymore. My Mother use to make baby clothes for the Philippines 55 years ago. I remember her getting the flannel and making them. Chris

Your third finish for September is wonderful! You know how I love a zig zag quilt! The weather has cooled of here and the humidity has dropped, but I was too busy quilting on Sunday to go out and mow. I rained hard all day Saturday so maybe it would have been to wet to mow anyway. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Again you got lots of work accomplished. Book and Coleus look so pretty.

We're off to the coast to be with our families there for a week. Will catch up when we return. And I am going to miss the first episode of Castle.

I'm curious about your coleus... is it as simple as snipping off a stem and putting it in water? I have some beauties this year and I've never thought about doing this.

Coleus cuttings! Do tell. Do you plop in water, or use root hormone, or ...?

In that a couple (or more0 of us are curious, perhaps you could put a bit into your blog this week.

Thank you in advance!

How lovely to see so many coleus cuttings coming along, used to have these in the UK many, many years ago.

Love his fabrics. I have not purchased one of his books yet but it is on my list of things to do.

A fellow Presby! We have a wonderful prayer quilt ministry at my church that has made and given 85 quilts in the last year. Blessings to you.
