Decisions, decisions............

I sewed the 4 duplicate blocks and put the last 2 groups on the design wall.  I need to make one more batch of blocks so they will all come off the wall and move to the wall that has better lighting for the next photo.

I took out the very darkest 3 blocks (that were leftovers from the Peony Garden quilt) for this photo.  I either need to make some more that are a little darker like those 3 or leave them out and finish the quilt.  I need either 6 or 9 blocks depending on which way I do it.

My cousin and his wife stopped to see my dad on their way home from their son's house.  Dad isn't doing well so it may be the last time they will see him.  We had a leisurely lunch and talked for a couple hours.  Good therapy for me.

Today some of the quilters I used to work with at the quilt shop are coming over.  I haven't seen a couple of them for a year or more.

What about... moving all the darker blocks to one side/corner and shading... with the remaining blocks to the lightest... sort of like a bit of shade on the pastels... Just a thought. Did you have fun with the friends?

Quilters are never finished when they think they have sewn enough blocks. You will figure it out or you will sew nine and not use them all only to have a start on another top. Enjoy your company. Chris

I am drawn to the top picture, with darker squares scattered. It hints at leaves showing through thick flower clusters.

I love the splashes of red (looks red on my screen) in these blocks and also the dark splashes of green here and there - very nice.
Sorry your dad is still not doing well, hope he is not in any pain.

I love the hits of dark pink otherwise I think the quilt would be too much the same. This quilt is so pretty - very spring like!

I am not so good with light values. This on would be difficult for me to get just the right blocks. I'm sorry to hear that your Dad isn't doing well. At least you got him in a better situation so he can be restful.

I like it better without the darks. I am sorry your Dad is not doing well. It always hurts when those you love are ill and there's nothing much you can do about it but love them.

I like the darker pink flowers peeking out among the light ones.
I'm so sorry your dad isn't doing well, but hope he is comfortable and not in any pain.
