A little bit of sunshine..........

The weather alternated between sunshine and rain showers yesterday.  Late in the afternoon the sunlight looked so pretty coming across my small collection of pottery and the tree hydrangeas from 2 years ago.
I sewed a little piece of sunshine too from scraps 6.5" long and ranging from 3/4" to a little over an inch in width.  I also sewed the last 2 seams in the Grandmother's Dream quilt top that I started over a month ago.  Other than that, I finished my book, "Hardball" by Sara Paretsky.  Now I can get the last 2 books in the series from the library.

For me a relaxing day is rooting in a small scraps container and making something from nothing . It's a problem though when some one calls and is faced with a raggy looking pile on the kitchen table .

Your little piece of sunshine will be a great start for something.

Interesting and lovely pictures of sunlight. Shades of yellow, gold, browns, rust and white in reality and then with strips of fabric.
Wow. So many pieces of fabric in your small, scrappy sunshine collection of fabrics. And only a quarter inch of fabric showing in some of your strips. A most thoughtful and helpful demonstration showing how you play with yellow and sunlight color values. Not easy for me. Thank you, Wanda.

I agree you captured a lovely photo of your pottery collection.

Your sunny yellow strips are like slices of lemon and orange sugar candy, just delicious.

I too like to have dried hydrangeas, the colours are amazing, and love your cheery yellow trips have you decided yet what project they will be part of?
