Red Random Plank....done.....

I got busy first thing in the morning yesterday to get the binding sewn on this Random Plank quilt.  I did it all by machine.  I tried to cut the dotted fabric straight along the dots and only one small area is off a bit.  It is on the left about a third of the way up from the bottom.  It ended up at 74.5" x 99".
I finished 2 blocks and started a third one while I watched 2 episodes of Doc Martin on Netflix.  I'm near the end of season 4 now.  I decided I will use the crazy pieced block (shown yesterday) in the Rattlesnake quilt, and maybe I'll try to sneak a second one in.  I have all of the fabric chosen now to complete 36 blocks and I have an idea for borders at the top and bottom to make it rectangular.

I love the way all those reds turned out in your quilt, and the dot binding is so perfect for it. Fabulous work.

I like the crazy pieced block in your rattlesnake quilt. A little "surprise" like that entices the viewer to look closer.

Random Plank is another beauty. You really balanced out the hits of yellow well. Congrats on another finish!

When you said you were going to use the dot fabric on the binding, I got excited. I knew it would be cool and it is.

I am amazed at all you get done-just amazed. I can't think as fast as you produce:) And everything is just lovely. I am glad you are including the crazy pieced block in the rattlesnake quilt.

The binding is well executed. If you did not tell us that there was a SLIGHT roll in the dots, I don't think anyone would pick up on it.
I think the execution of the dot binding was as perfect as humanly possible.
Bindings that have the strong geometrics wobble is a peeve of mine.
Well done!

I love this quilt, it has a grand appearance. I still could not find your 'little blip' on your binding, even when you told us it was there. Really a show piece Wanda.

Right now I see it is only 15 degrees, but with sunshine. Sun always makes my day whether it is hot or cold.

Love the Random Plank quilt! The difference is not really noticeable on the binding.

When I saw the crazy pieced block I thought of the little game on Seasame Street... I know it from my kids watching the show. "One of these things is not like the other... One of these things is not the same." If you only have one odd one, it could be the name of your quilt - or just a fun game.

Very nice. Love the colors and the dots in the binding. I find dots are hard to cut in a straight line. The fabric does not quite line up some of the time.

Love it all! Now, ...spam comments? I have not had that...would I even recognize it? Hoping I am not speaking too soon(: Anyway..I am encouraged to do a random plank after seeing yours.

I missed this post by not coming online yesterday, but I will now say that this is the most gorgeous version I have seen of the jellyroll-race type of quilts. Outstanding, and such a wonderfully usable size.

I think these brighter lights are going to really spark up this rattlesnake quilt.
