Christmas fabric blocks.......

I decided to go with a traditional block for my Christmas fabrics.  I will have to look up the name of this star because I don't remember it.  I got 6 more blocks sewn but they aren't pressed yet.  You can see that some blocks have a variety in them instead of just 2 fabrics.  I wanted to use up as much as I could and there weren't as many triangles of some as there were of others.
These 3 were the last ones I sewed and you can tell I was down to the end of the pile with that top block.  15 blocks will be 36" x 60" so it will have a border and use up some more fabric out of the box.
I finished reading this book last night.  He really had an art filled life from the time he was a child.  He did way more knitting and needlepoint than designing quilts and fabric.  It is a very interesting and colorful book.  I think I may need to read it again some time.
If you want to see who was the recipient of this quilt, check out this blog.

The Christmas quilt is wonderful. I love the mix of prints that happened at the end.
And the zig zag quilt made someone very happy it seems. Perfect!

What a surprise... those little triangles turned out to be. I agree with Laura, "lots of action, just like you". I must add, just glorious.

Was fun to see the recipient of streak of lightning, from door step to all covered up. (*._,*)

I visited Diane's blog Persnickety Quilts for awhile this morning and thoroughly enjoyed reading present and past posts. Thank you for a link to her blog. I remember the posts you wrote as you made the beautiful quilt you gifted her. You could see Diane was thrilled about Zig Zag. Her beautiful smile said it all :)

I would also like to know the name of the block you used with your Christmas fabric. The first name that popped into my mind was the Barbara Fritchie star. But when I went looking for that star, it was quite the same. Thank you for sharing all your quilts. Love seeing all the color in them.
