Yes it was hot......

I don't know what the "official" temperature was yesterday but my car thermometer said 101 degrees on my way home from lunch after class.  I went out to put fresh water in the birdbaths around 4 and it was like a furnace outside.
I did have 5 wonderful students in my class yesterday.  We had a nice cool classroom so all was well.  Last night I cut 15 more fabrics for the batik kits so I'm at 50 which means I'm 1/4 of the way done with them.  It takes a long time to choose the fabrics for a good assortment so I'll be working on the next 40 fabrics today.

Those batiks are just so pretty; our heat is nowhere near that, but our humidity is waaay up--and so AC is on...Julierose

It looks so easy when it's done. But a lot of work goes into choosing those fabrics! Your students are very lucky!

I'm glad your class went well and you had a cool place. We're supposed to golf this afternoon and it's going to be pretty hot.
I love the batiks!

I'm glad the class was cool and productive. The birds must think it is a sauna instead of a bath.

Yes, it is really hot, I think, all over the place. Yesterday we had a heat index of 106: I stayed in. This afternoon is studio time for me where the temp is a nice 72.

I'm glad you had a cool classroom for your class, can't believe how hot the weather has been. All of the hostas looks so burned up. Hope your headache is gone and your basement is cool enough for cutting the batiks.

101 degrees ! Talk about a l o n g hot summer ~ you sure can relate to that. I heard on the news it has not been that hot since the 1950's. But I think you must have broken some historical records this year.

Fun to watch what you add to the mix of existing squares. Your eye for transitioning from one fabric to the next is what I really enjoy watching.

Wanda: that's just gruesome heat. I'm so sorry. I hope it lets up soon. When I saw St. Louis at 107 yesterday, I almost flipped. I don't know how those poor people without A/C manage.

Glad your class went well. Comfortable classrooms have got to make it a lot easier on everyone. Those batik kits are really coming along.

I do like your choice of batik and colours, maybe you would be happier down here, we have -2.8 Celsius this morning at 6 a.m. !!! Way too hot to cut,sew or do anything much at all in your heat. Love the Baxtertoons. Cheers, Jean.
