Colorwash batik fabrics.......

I woke up with a headache yesterday, not a bad one but an irritating one.  I lost a day of cutting because of it.  I was able to pull fabrics to prepare for cutting though.  I don't always use all of the ones I pull.  I make that decision once I start cutting.
Here are 2 examples of fabrics that work great in the colorwash because of all of the different cuts you will get in one strip, but they don't work well in kits because I categorize the fabrics by color to get an even balance, and each kit would have these in a different place.  This is the type of fabric you need to cut for yourself to add into a kit you purchase.
Every 2 weeks I have to stop whatever I am working on, clean off the cutting table, and work on the church projects.  Today I have to search through my kid prints and cut 20 pillowcases for the travel size pillows.  We will work on them tomorrow at sewing circle.  It is supposed to be 100 degrees tomorrow, not a great day to have to leave the house.

I think I have a student to prepare for also. But I am doing it one at a time. The greens are beautiful. Hopefully iot doesn't get as hot as they say. Chris

Those green fabrics are fantastic. I hope it doesn't get too hot. The fan on my air conditioner keeps turning itself off. In this weather it will probably take three weeks to get a guy out here to fix it.

They are fantastic for color wash. That is one of the things that I love about batiks is the variation in color and texture. No two cuts are ever exactly alike, which makes for a very interesting quilt.

I love the two lighter color fabrics that you show because at one time I had them in my stash! I remembered them immediately. In fact if I search I bet I could find some left over pieces hanging around this room on the shelves someplace :)

Will now be checking my batik scraps for 2.5 size pieces.
I get inspired just checking in every day to your blog.

What a great idea. What size are the travel pillowcases?

I get a headache just looking at all those fabrics that need to be cut. You are one productive lady. Take care of yourself and we all know what it is like to work with a headache. No one is in any hurry for your kits.

Take Sunday off and read a good book. (*._,*)

Wow love those greens! So sorry about all of the heat - in the Seattle area it's overcast and high 60's if we are lucky.

Those greens are gorgeous. I really like seeing how you arrange them in color order. I'm not there yet by a long shot, but seeing what you do really helps me. And yeah, summer has returned here with a vengeance.

Gorgeous array of fabrics. I'm in danger of drooling on my keyboard!

Those green fabrics are glorious. Please take it easy -- in that kind of heat and with a headache it sounds like it's time to put the cutting aside for a few days. The kits are going to be wonderful no matter when they're ready.
