Another SOLD!

Another small piece sold at my show at Ciel Gallery in Charlotte NC.  The show will end at 5 p.m. Saturday June 30 so you still have time to see it if you are in the area.  Yesterday a blog reader and her husband from AL visited and also a NC resident who traveled 3 1/2 hours to see the show was there.  My daughter was in her studio and got to meet them.  Thanks to both of you!!  I wish I could have been there and met you too.

I decided to make another piece similar to this one.  So far I have just pressed all of the raw edge strip onto a piece of fusible batting.  I have no idea what is happening to it next.  I'll let it tell me.
Warning to greedy squirrels:  Don't go head first into the bird feeder without an escape plan!!  I was eating my lunch and glanced out at this feeder and noticed the tail wasn't moving.  I went out to investigate and he's dead in there.  I thought I could shake him out but he's stuck.  It really makes me angry that he waited until I hung a new feeder to replace the one that was worn out.  The squirrels have been doing this dive into the feeders for years and this is the first one that didn't make it out.  They are just too handy for their own good.  They know how to pop the tops off of 2 of my 3 bird feeders in about 2 seconds.  I won't be replacing this feeder.

Beautiful, as always! It's too bad that the other squirrels can't learn something from this. :)

I finally found a squirrel proof bird feeder that I like - the first one lasted quite some time and then a raccoon or small black bear of which we do in our area but have not seen here on our land or something got it and dragged it until it broke and could get the seed - the 2nd one is still hanging and the squirrels can not get in it.
How many of your pieces have sold now? That is so cool that you have sold some.

Congratulations on another sale. Bummer about your bird feeder and the squirrel. Between the squirrels and the bears, we've had to stop trying to feed the birds. Just like with humans, the bad ones often ruin it for the good ones.

Congratulations on another sale. I really love that quilt! Squirrels can be so annoying. Stupid squirrel! I decided not to put bird seed into my feeder this summer. I only have a thistle sock hanging up in my apple tree for the goldfinches.

We don't have squirrels so I guess I can feel sorry for the squirrel!

Yay for a sale! The new piece looks interesting. Can't wait to see what it becomes. And I don't like squirrels. Sorry that one messed up your feeder though.

Good grief. He must not have know that he was too fat to dive into THIS bird feeder.
Will be fun watching to see how the floating strips project turns out :D

A few years ago I was at my parent's house. Dad was puttering around outside with the garage door open. I came out of the house and saw a squirrel dragging a seed bell out of the garage! It was as big as he was.

Hi Wanda,
Love the new gift piece. It is a gift for us to see it!

Well, Mr. Destructo Squirrel got his due. Too bad he ruined the feeder. And too bad you have to be the undertaker.

It's fun that you are continuing to sell your pieces. Are the rest going to be listed in your blog shop after the show?

Keep cool!
