More red flowers.....

The other 2 weigela bushes are done blooming and now the red one is full of flowers.
It is loaded with blooms this year.  I'll have to watch for hummingbirds around it.
About half of the peony plants are blooming too.
I hope you didn't notice all of the weeds growing by the peonies or the grass going to seed in this photo.  I will use the excuse that I have been finishing quilts for my show, but in reality, I never keep ahead of the weeds.  I got the hanging sleeve on my H quilt but didn't find a binding yet for the other one.  There are so many colors touching the edge of the quilt and I think some shade of purple is going to be the best blend with everything.

I miss peonies and lilacs from my Michigan and Illinois homes from way back. Neither will grow in the south where I am planted now. Sigh... Mary Ann

What glorious flowers! Oh, to smell those peonies! It will be about another month before we see them here and then I'll be haunting the florists!

Wow, everything looks beautiful! I never keep ahead of the weeds either. I don't think it's really possible, you should see the jungle out there! Fortunately we've had rain today so I have a good excuse. :)

Weeds, who has weeds beside me? LOL Your garden looks lovely. I love the Weigela bushes. I used to call them "bees bush". I have not seen any hummingbirds at my house but I have had the Baltimore Orioles back but not sure if they stayed or not. I sprayed some of my weeds but only by the sidewalk. I am sure last nights rain washed it away. I will probably have to do it again. You have been very busy getting ready for your show. I am off to Roberts Quilt store to find some red and white fabric so I can finish my Christmas quit. Enjoy your day as it is beautiful outside but cool.

Weigela bush is awesome. And for heavens sake if you had not mentioned it... who would have noticed that the foliage is weeds and not just some other plants around your pretty peonies. (*._,*)
